LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - David Letterman is near a deal to continue reading Top 10 lists on CBS for another three years.

The network is about to re-sign the Emmy-winning talk-show personality to continue hosting "Late Show" until 2011-12, sources said. The agreement will represent a two-year extension on his current contract, which expires in 2010.

CBS declined comment.

YAY! :D This makes me happy. I'm hoping to go see the show in person before he leaves. :(

Wheres Rupert? [11 Jun 2008|09:30pm]

eyezonthesky
Does anyone know what happened to Rupert? weve hardly seen him since before the strike, in fact ive only seen him in one quick taped bit recently, granted i havent watched every night, but i try to at least watch the first half hour each night.  I've checked the Hello Deli website and its the same as always, and no mention of it in his bio on the Late Show website.

I was walking down the street, and all of the sudden, this big prize wheel was barreling toward me. Barely escaped with my life.

Lmao, who saw Thursday's show? I loved this segment where he was stuck in an elevator. Hell, I love seeing him doing some kind of remote segment.

Whoa. Letterman was ticked today. Either that or he taking the rare opportunity to use the word "whore" repeatedly on national television. ;-)

EEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEE

He's back, he's back, he's back!

And he looks like Santa Claus...minus the belly. Or a skinny/tall Wilford Brimley. Or a Civil War vet. OMG David with a thick beard.

WTF?!

So far, he's his usual awesome self.

Top Three Strike Jokes [08 Dec 2007|09:38pm]

thecomedian
These were featured on page 73 of Bill Adler's book, The Letterman Wit. These are from the 1988 strike.

3. It's the first time in memory that I've gotten so desperate to return to the talk-show business that I started to entertain people on street corners. Though they didn't seem to be truly entertained. Quietly, when thet got home, perhaps they might admit they were. Actually, just to get TV time, I was shoplifting in 7-Elevens.
2. The producers happen to be, in my opinion, money-gubbing scum. I want to make sure people understand I'm in favor of the Writers Guild [and its strike].
1. I am keeping busy during the Writers Guild strike with my gardening and phoning my favorite talk radio programs. Last month, I splurged and treated myself to much-needed liposuction surgery on my hips and thighs. I look and feel ten years younger.

Next up, Richard Simmons. Does Dave have his fire extinguisher ready?
